Refund & Cancellation Policy

At Fare 1, we understand that travel plans can change unexpectedly. We strive to be as flexible as possible while ensuring our drivers are fairly compensated for their reserved time. This policy outlines when you are eligible for a refund and how to request one.

1. Refund Eligibility Criteria

Your eligibility for a refund depends primarily on when the cancellation is requested relative to your scheduled pickup time.

A. Full Refund (Advance Cancellation)

If you cancel your booking more than 24 hours before the scheduled pickup time, you will receive a 100% refund of the fare paid. We do not charge any cancellation fees for advance notice cancellations.

B. Non-Refundable (Late Cancellation)

If you cancel within 24 hours of the scheduled pickup time, the booking becomes non-refundable. This policy is in place because a driver and vehicle have already been allocated to your journey, preventing them from accepting other work.

C. Fare 1 Cancellation

In the unlikely event that Fare 1 must cancel your booking due to unforeseen circumstances within our control (such as vehicle breakdown or driver unavailability), you will automatically receive a full refund.

2. Airport Pickups & Waiting Fees

We closely monitor flight schedules to ensure a smooth pickup experience.

Standard Free Waiting

For all airport collections, we include a complimentary waiting period of 1 hour (60 minutes) starting from the time your flight lands. This allows ample time for you to disembark and collect luggage.

Excess Charges

If the driver is required to wait beyond the free 60-minute period, an additional waiting fee will apply. The charge is £8.00 for every 15-minute block (or part thereof) thereafter. This fee must be settled before the journey commences or will be deducted from any deposit.

3. Non-Refundable Scenarios

Please note that refunds will not be issued in the following situations:

  • Passenger No-Show: If you are not at the pickup location and cannot be contacted by the driver within the waiting period.
  • Incorrect Details: If the service cannot be provided due to incorrect information provided during booking (e.g., wrong date, time, or location).
  • Short Notice Changes: Changes to the destination or route requested after the driver has been dispatched which result in a shorter journey or cancellation.

4. How to Request a Refund

To initiate a refund request, please contact our support team via email. We aim to process all valid requests promptly.

  • Your Booking Reference Number
  • Reason for cancellation/refund
  • Any relevant supporting details

Approved refunds will be credited back to the original payment method within 5–7 business days, depending on your bank's processing times.

5. Force Majeure

We are not liable for refunding costs associated with delays caused by events strictly outside of our control, such as extreme weather conditions, road closures, or civil unrest. However, we will always endeavor to assist you in reaching your destination safely.
