Drivers

The bar, then above it.

UK private-hire law sets a baseline for who can drive paying passengers. We treat that baseline as a starting point, then re-verify it every year. Here's exactly what that means.

Standard vetting

Six checks. Every driver. Every year.

  • 01Enhanced DBS criminal record check (all drivers)
  • 02DVLA license check + endorsement history review
  • 03Council-issued PHV driver license verification
  • 04Group 2 medical fitness standard
  • 05Vehicle MOT + comprehensive insurance verification
  • 06Annual re-verification of all of the above

Beyond minimum

What we add on top.

Practices beyond statutory vetting — coming soon. (Mahir to document.)

In the meantime: every driver who joins us has completed customer-service onboarding, vehicle-presentation review, and a buddy-shift with an existing driver before their first paying trip.

How dispatch works

From booking to driver.

  1. 01

    You book a fixed price.

The system holds the price and routes the booking to the operations team.

  2. 02

    Admin reviews and dispatches.

A human reviews the booking, picks the right vehicle category for the trip, and pushes it to drivers via the Fare 1 driver app.

  3. 03

Drivers see the trip in their app.

Drivers can accept the trip if it matches their availability and vehicle. The trip locks once accepted.

  4. 04

    You get the driver’s details.

Name, photo, vehicle, registration plate, and ETA — confirmed before pickup so you know who’s coming.
