Airport and cruise transfers in Bournemouth.

Bournemouth has its own airport five miles out and Southampton's cruise terminals thirty-two miles east — two very different journeys, and we price both before you travel.

From Bournemouth

The journeys we make from here.

Distances and times below are measured on the same routing engine that prices your booking, in typical traffic. They are what we plan to, not a promise about the road on the day — and because the price is agreed before you travel, a slow run costs you nothing extra.

Anywhere else in the UK is quoted the same way, on our published per-mile rate, fixed at the moment you book. The pre-set route prices cover our Southampton, Winchester and Basingstoke zones.

Local detail

What actually decides a Bournemouth journey.

Bournemouth Airport is close enough that the run is about the pickup arrangements rather than the drive. Southampton's cruise terminals are the longer job: 32 miles and about fifty minutes on the A31 and M27, more on a sail-day Saturday. For a morning embarkation out of Bournemouth we set the pickup earlier than the mileage suggests, because the Ringwood-to-Cadnam stretch is where an hour becomes ninety minutes.

Heathrow is 92 miles — the longest airport run we quote as routine — usually A31 and M27 to the M3, about an hour and forty. Gatwick is 112, and for an early flight the sensible conversation is whether an airport hotel the night before beats a 01:30 pickup.

Bournemouth is outside the Southampton fixed-fare zone, so journeys are quoted on the published per-mile rate from your postcode and locked when you book.

Where we pick up

BH1–BH11 and the villages around them.

  • Bournemouth town centre, the Square and the pier
  • Bournemouth and Pokesdown stations
  • Poole, Sandbanks and Parkstone
  • Christchurch, Southbourne and Boscombe
  • Bournemouth Airport and Hurn

Pickups outside these areas are quoted the same way — the per-mile rate for your vehicle multiplied by the route, shown before you book.

The docks

All five Southampton cruise terminals.

The terminals are not interchangeable. Ocean and QEII sit behind Dock Gate 4 on the eastern docks, Mayflower and City behind Dock Gate 10 to the west, and arriving at the wrong gate on a two-ship Saturday costs half an hour. We confirm the terminal from your booking reference rather than the ship’s name, and time the pickup against the check-in window printed on your boarding pass.

Frequently asked

Quick answers.

  • Regularly — it is one of the standard journeys out of Dorset, because Southampton is the nearest major cruise port. Thirty-two miles, about an hour, and longer on a sail-day morning. We confirm the terminal and dock gate from your booking reference and time the pickup against your check-in window.
  • Bournemouth is outside the Southampton SO14–SO53 fixed-fare zone, so journeys are quoted on our published per-mile rate from your postcode rather than from the fixed-fare route table. The quote is still locked at the moment you book.
  • For an airport or cruise run, as soon as you have the flight number or the sailing. For a local journey same-day is usually fine, but we are a pre-booked fleet rather than a rank — there is no guarantee of a car in ten minutes at three in the morning, and we would rather say so than take the booking and disappoint you.
  • We track the inbound flight from wherever it took off, so the pickup time moves with the aircraft rather than with the schedule you booked against. The first 60 minutes of waiting after landing is included — enough for a full-flight baggage reclaim — and you are not charged for a delay that is not yours.
  • Yes. Airport drop-off charges, congestion and ULEZ where they apply are shown as their own lines on the booking form so you can see what is a fee and what is fare. Nothing is added after the journey: no meter, no day-of re-quote, and the fare is locked when you book even if our rate sheet changes before your pickup.
