It is in Eastleigh, not Southampton
Southampton Airport sits in Eastleigh, two miles from that town centre and about five from the city. That geography is why so many journeys here are short ones, and why the price on a short hop looks high for the distance: the airport's own pickup charge and our minimum fare, rather than the mileage, set most of the total. It is a convenience purchase, and on embarkation day with cases most people decide it is worth it.
The shortest airport-to-cruise transfer in the country
Southampton Airport to Ocean Cruise Terminal is 5.5 miles and about 24 minutes in typical traffic — the shortest airport-to-ship run in Britain, and one of the reasons Southampton works as a cruise port. On a turnaround Saturday plan for 40 to 45 minutes instead, because the dock approach roads carry the disembarkation outflow and the embarkation inflow at the same time.
A small terminal, which changes the timings
One terminal, one arrivals hall, and a walk from aircraft door to kerb measured in minutes. Fifteen to twenty-five minutes from wheels-down to being in a car is normal, against 45 to 110 at Heathrow. Departing, the standard two-hours-before advice is more generous here than it needs to be — though we still set pickups against the airline's own guidance rather than ours.

Birmingham Airport is the busiest UK regional airport outside London — second-city hub for European short-haul and a handful of long-haul carriers. Birmingham charges £7 for 15 minutes at the Premium Set Down bay outside the terminal; the free Drop Off Car Park still exists but sits a 5-10 minute walk away, which is not what you booked a car for. Pickup uses short-stay (£9.50 for 60 min); we factor it in only when collecting an arrival.

Bournemouth Airport is the closest airport to our Southampton hub — a 28-mile run. The short run makes this our cheapest airport transfer. Same dropoff zone serves both pickup and dropoff (£8 for 30 min since the 1 June 2026 restructure), giving drivers flex on meet timing. Strong Bournemouth bookings during summer holiday months for charter departures.

Bristol Airport serves the south-west and Wales — Lulsgate Bottom site, ~8 miles from central Bristol. Fixed-fare route from Southampton at £160. Drop & Go is £8.50 for 10 min, and short stay £8.50 for 15 min or £10.50 for 15-30; all baked into the quote. Free waiting zone option exists 7-9 minutes from the terminal if your inbound flight is late.

- It is in Eastleigh, about two miles from Eastleigh town centre and five from Southampton city centre. Southampton Airport Parkway station sits beside the terminal, roughly a two-minute walk, which makes the train a real option if you are travelling light and going somewhere on the line.
- About 5.5 miles and 24 minutes in typical traffic to Ocean Cruise Terminal, behind Dock Gate 4. Allow 40 to 45 minutes on a peak summer Saturday. Mayflower, City and Horizon are behind Dock Gate 10 on the western side, a few minutes further and on a different approach.
