How Stripe manual-capture works for you

Card authorised at booking, captured on admin acceptance. Released on cancellation. Refunded post-trip if needed.

We use Stripe's manual-capture flow for all bookings. Here's what happens on your card between booking and trip.

The timeline

  1. You book. Stripe authorises the quoted amount on your card. Your bank holds it aside but does NOT transfer it to us. You see a "pending hold" on your statement.

  2. We accept the booking. Admin reviews the booking and dispatches a driver. At this point Stripe captures the authorisation — the pending hold becomes a real charge.

  3. Trip happens. No change to the captured amount unless extras occurred (added stops, waiting time, route changes).

  4. Extras (if any). Charged after the trip with itemised receipt by email.

What can happen between steps

  • Booking cancelled before we accept: authorisation released, funds return within 1-7 days
  • We can't dispatch: authorisation released, no charge
  • You cancel: see cancellation rules

Refunds

Always go back to the original card via Stripe. Posting time varies by issuer — 5-10 business days typical. Appears as a separate line on statement (not a reversal).
