Why multi-day not same-day
Same-day return = 11-12 hours driving + however long at destination. Driver shift limits typically don't allow it. We schedule Lake District trips as multi-day arrangements:
- Day 1: chauffeur outbound to accommodation
- Days 2+: passenger uses hire car or rail for local exploration
- Final day: chauffeur return south

Alternative: Manchester Airport + onward rail
Some travellers chauffeur to Manchester Airport (200 miles), train to Oxenholme, local taxi from there. Total cost similar to direct chauffeur but with breaks.
