Travelling with pets on a Fare 1 chauffeur transfer:
Service dogs
Registered service dogs under UK law travel free in any vehicle category. Drivers cannot refuse — this is statutory.
Other pets
Accepted with prior arrangement on the booking note:
- Dogs (non-service): must be in a carrier or harness-secured
- Cats: must be in a carrier
- Small animals (rabbit, etc.): must be in a carrier
The pet travels in the rear with the passenger or in a secured boot area depending on size.
What we'd ask
- Mention on booking note. Type of pet, approximate size, carrier or not.
- For long trips: allow rest-stops for the pet (we coordinate).
- For accidents: cleaning charges apply if the pet damages or soils the interior (capped at £150 cleaning).
Vehicle considerations
For pet transport, MPV or estate makes more sense than saloon — easier carrier access through the side or rear door.
Allergic drivers
If a passenger explicitly notes pet allergies on the booking, we assign a driver without recent pet transport history.
