Airport and cruise transfers in Waterlooville.

Waterlooville sits on the A3(M) above Portsmouth, which makes it one of the quickest places on our patch to get to Gatwick from — 62 miles, and the shortest London-airport run of any town we cover east of Southampton.

From Waterlooville

The journeys we make from here.

Distances and times below are measured on the same routing engine that prices your booking, in typical traffic. They are what we plan to, not a promise about the road on the day — and because the price is agreed before you travel, a slow run costs you nothing extra.

Anywhere else in the UK is quoted the same way, on our published per-mile rate, fixed at the moment you book. The pre-set route prices cover our Southampton, Winchester and Basingstoke zones.

Local detail

What actually decides a Waterlooville journey.

Gatwick at 62 miles and Heathrow at 62 are, unusually, the same distance from here — the A3(M) north splits sensibly towards both. Which is quicker depends entirely on the hour: Heathrow's M25 stretch and Gatwick's A27/M23 stretch fail at different times of day, and that is what we plan around rather than the mileage.

The Southampton cruise terminals are 21 miles west on the M27, the better part of an hour. That is the longest terminal run of our eastern towns, and on a two-ship Saturday it is the one where leaving half an hour earlier is the whole difference.

Waterlooville is outside the Southampton fixed-fare zone, so journeys are quoted on the published per-mile rate from your postcode. The quote is still locked when you book — it just is not read off a route table.

Where we pick up

PO7–PO8 and the villages around them.

  • Waterlooville town centre and Wellington Way
  • Horndean, Cowplain and Denmead
  • Purbrook, Widley and Crookhorn
  • Clanfield and the Meon Valley edge
  • The A3(M) junction 3–4 corridor

Pickups outside these areas are quoted the same way — the per-mile rate for your vehicle multiplied by the route, shown before you book.

The docks

All five Southampton cruise terminals.

The terminals are not interchangeable. Ocean and QEII sit behind Dock Gate 4 on the eastern docks, Mayflower and City behind Dock Gate 10 to the west, and arriving at the wrong gate on a two-ship Saturday costs half an hour. We confirm the terminal from your booking reference rather than the ship’s name, and time the pickup against the check-in window printed on your boarding pass.

Frequently asked

Quick answers.

  • On distance there is nothing in it; both are about 62 miles. The tiebreaker is the time of day you travel. An early-morning Heathrow run meets the M25 at its worst between junctions 12 and 14, while a Gatwick run at the same hour is mostly A-road and moves. Late-afternoon it reverses. Tell us the flight and we will say which we would pick.
  • Waterlooville is outside the Southampton SO14–SO53 fixed-fare zone, so journeys are quoted on our published per-mile rate from your postcode rather than from the fixed-fare route table. The quote is still locked at the moment you book.
  • For an airport or cruise run, as soon as you have the flight number or the sailing. For a local journey same-day is usually fine, but we are a pre-booked fleet rather than a rank — there is no guarantee of a car in ten minutes at three in the morning, and we would rather say so than take the booking and disappoint you.
  • We track the inbound flight from wherever it took off, so the pickup time moves with the aircraft rather than with the schedule you booked against. The first 60 minutes of waiting after landing is included — enough for a full-flight baggage reclaim — and you are not charged for a delay that is not yours.
  • Yes. Airport drop-off charges, congestion and ULEZ where they apply are shown as their own lines on the booking form so you can see what is a fee and what is fare. Nothing is added after the journey: no meter, no day-of re-quote, and the fare is locked when you book even if our rate sheet changes before your pickup.
