Airport and cruise transfers in Romsey.

Romsey sits on the Test between the M27 and the edge of the New Forest, and it is inside our Southampton fixed-fare zone — so the pre-set route prices apply from here.

From Romsey

The journeys we make from here.

Distances and times below are measured on the same routing engine that prices your booking, in typical traffic. They are what we plan to, not a promise about the road on the day — and because the price is agreed before you travel, a slow run costs you nothing extra.

Anywhere else in the UK is quoted the same way, on our published per-mile rate. Romsey also sits inside the Southampton SO14–SO53 zone, so the pre-set route prices are available from here.

Local detail

What actually decides a Romsey journey.

Romsey's road out is the A3057 or the A27 down to the M27 at junction 3, and from there everything else follows. Heathrow is 69 miles and a little over eighty minutes; Gatwick is 88, which is a long way round whichever road you take and the clearest case on this list for agreeing the price before you set off.

The cruise terminals and Southampton Airport are both under ten miles — about twenty minutes to the airport, nearer twenty-five to the docks when the M27 is behaving. Romsey to the docks is a run we make often on sail-day mornings, and the timing we work to is the check-in window on your boarding pass, not the sailing time.

Because Romsey is in the SO14–SO53 zone, the Southampton fixed fares are available on journeys from here. Start at the route page for the airport you want — the pre-set price travels with that booking link.

Where we pick up

SO51 and the villages around them.

  • Romsey town centre, the Abbey and the Cornmarket
  • Romsey railway station
  • Broadlands and the Test Valley
  • North Baddesley, Ampfield and Braishfield
  • Nursling, Ower and the M27 junction 2–3 corridor

Pickups outside these areas are quoted the same way — the per-mile rate for your vehicle multiplied by the route, shown before you book.

The docks

All five Southampton cruise terminals.

The terminals are not interchangeable. Ocean and QEII sit behind Dock Gate 4 on the eastern docks, Mayflower and City behind Dock Gate 10 to the west, and arriving at the wrong gate on a two-ship Saturday costs half an hour. We confirm the terminal from your booking reference rather than the ship’s name, and time the pickup against the check-in window printed on your boarding pass.

Frequently asked

Quick answers.

  • Yes — Braishfield, Michelmersh, Timsbury, Mottisfont, Ower and the lanes around them. Rural pickups are quoted the same way as town ones, from the postcode. What we ask for on a village pickup is a what3words or a pin rather than just the house name, because an unlit lane at 04:00 is where a driver loses ten minutes.
  • Romsey is inside the Southampton SO14–SO53 pickup zone, so the pre-set Southampton route prices are available on journeys from here. Open the route page for the airport you want and book from there — the fixed price travels with that link. Typing the addresses into the booking form by hand quotes the journey on the per-mile rate instead.
  • For an airport or cruise run, as soon as you have the flight number or the sailing. For a local journey same-day is usually fine, but we are a pre-booked fleet rather than a rank — there is no guarantee of a car in ten minutes at three in the morning, and we would rather say so than take the booking and disappoint you.
  • We track the inbound flight from wherever it took off, so the pickup time moves with the aircraft rather than with the schedule you booked against. The first 60 minutes of waiting after landing is included — enough for a full-flight baggage reclaim — and you are not charged for a delay that is not yours.
  • Yes. Airport drop-off charges, congestion and ULEZ where they apply are shown as their own lines on the booking form so you can see what is a fee and what is fare. Nothing is added after the journey: no meter, no day-of re-quote, and the fare is locked when you book even if our rate sheet changes before your pickup.
