Airport and cruise transfers in Totton.
Totton is the last town before the New Forest and six miles from the cruise terminals — closer to the docks than most of Southampton, as long as you are not crossing the Redbridge causeway at the wrong hour.
From Totton
The journeys we make from here.
Distances and times below are measured on the same routing engine that prices your booking, in typical traffic. They are what we plan to, not a promise about the road on the day — and because the price is agreed before you travel, a slow run costs you nothing extra.

Local detail
What actually decides a Totton journey.
The cruise terminals are under six miles from Totton, which on a clear morning is under twenty minutes. The qualifier matters: the A35 at Redbridge and the Millbrook roundabout are where cruise traffic and commuter traffic meet, and on a Saturday with two ships in they are the whole story. We build that in rather than discovering it.
Heathrow is 69 miles via the M27 and M3, about eighty minutes. Totton is inside the Southampton SO14–SO53 fixed-fare zone, so the Southampton pre-set prices apply — book from the route page for your airport and the price travels with the link.
We also cover the Waterside down from here — Marchwood, Hythe, Dibden Purlieu and Fawley — where the alternative to a pre-booked car is the ferry and a walk, which is a fine plan without luggage and a poor one with a cruise case.
Where we pick up
SO40 and the villages around them.
- Totton town centre and Testwood
- Totton railway station
- Marchwood, Hythe and Dibden Purlieu
- Calmore, Ower and Netley Marsh
- The A326 Waterside corridor down to Fawley
Pickups outside these areas are quoted the same way — the per-mile rate for your vehicle multiplied by the route, shown before you book.
The docks
All five Southampton cruise terminals.
The terminals are not interchangeable. Ocean and QEII sit behind Dock Gate 4 on the eastern docks, Mayflower and City behind Dock Gate 10 to the west, and arriving at the wrong gate on a two-ship Saturday costs half an hour. We confirm the terminal from your booking reference rather than the ship’s name, and time the pickup against the check-in window printed on your boarding pass.
Frequently asked
Quick answers.
- For two people with hand luggage, probably not. For a cruise with hold cases it usually is, because the alternative ends with you wheeling cases through a car park. The chauffeur takes the cases from the boot to the porter at the terminal door, and the pickup is timed against your check-in window rather than the sailing time.
- Totton is inside the Southampton SO14–SO53 pickup zone, so the pre-set Southampton route prices are available on journeys from here. Open the route page for the airport you want and book from there — the fixed price travels with that link. Typing the addresses into the booking form by hand quotes the journey on the per-mile rate instead.
- For an airport or cruise run, as soon as you have the flight number or the sailing. For a local journey same-day is usually fine, but we are a pre-booked fleet rather than a rank — there is no guarantee of a car in ten minutes at three in the morning, and we would rather say so than take the booking and disappoint you.
- We track the inbound flight from wherever it took off, so the pickup time moves with the aircraft rather than with the schedule you booked against. The first 60 minutes of waiting after landing is included — enough for a full-flight baggage reclaim — and you are not charged for a delay that is not yours.
- Yes. Airport drop-off charges, congestion and ULEZ where they apply are shown as their own lines on the booking form so you can see what is a fee and what is fare. Nothing is added after the journey: no meter, no day-of re-quote, and the fare is locked when you book even if our rate sheet changes before your pickup.
