Airport and cruise transfers in Salisbury.
Salisbury is our furthest regular pickup to the north-west, and the one where the cruise terminals matter most — 25 miles down the A36, and the closest cruise port to the whole of south Wiltshire.
From Salisbury
The journeys we make from here.
Distances and times below are measured on the same routing engine that prices your booking, in typical traffic. They are what we plan to, not a promise about the road on the day — and because the price is agreed before you travel, a slow run costs you nothing extra.

Local detail
What actually decides a Salisbury journey.
Southampton is Salisbury's cruise port in practice, and the A36 through Alderbury and Totton is the road. Twenty-five miles, about fifty minutes, longer on a sail-day Saturday when the Redbridge end backs up. We time the pickup against the check-in window on your boarding pass rather than the sailing time.
Heathrow is 74 miles — A303 and M3, or A36 and M27, and the first is usually quicker outside rush hour. Gatwick is 98 miles and a genuinely long day; for an early Gatwick flight the honest conversation is about whether a night before near the airport beats a 02:00 pickup.
Salisbury is outside the Southampton fixed-fare zone, so journeys are quoted on the published per-mile rate from your postcode, locked when you book.
Where we pick up
SP1–SP5 and the villages around them.
- Salisbury city centre, the Cathedral Close and the Market Square
- Salisbury railway station
- Salisbury District Hospital and Odstock
- Wilton, Amesbury and the Stonehenge corridor
- Downton, Alderbury and the SP5 villages
Pickups outside these areas are quoted the same way — the per-mile rate for your vehicle multiplied by the route, shown before you book.
The docks
All five Southampton cruise terminals.
The terminals are not interchangeable. Ocean and QEII sit behind Dock Gate 4 on the eastern docks, Mayflower and City behind Dock Gate 10 to the west, and arriving at the wrong gate on a two-ship Saturday costs half an hour. We confirm the terminal from your booking reference rather than the ship’s name, and time the pickup against the check-in window printed on your boarding pass.
Frequently asked
Quick answers.
- Whichever one your ship is berthed at — and that is not fixed by the cruise line. Ocean and QEII sit behind Dock Gate 4, Mayflower and City behind Dock Gate 10, and the gates are twenty minutes apart on a busy morning. Send us the booking reference and we confirm the terminal from that rather than from the ship's name.
- Salisbury is outside the Southampton SO14–SO53 fixed-fare zone, so journeys are quoted on our published per-mile rate from your postcode rather than from the fixed-fare route table. The quote is still locked at the moment you book.
- For an airport or cruise run, as soon as you have the flight number or the sailing. For a local journey same-day is usually fine, but we are a pre-booked fleet rather than a rank — there is no guarantee of a car in ten minutes at three in the morning, and we would rather say so than take the booking and disappoint you.
- We track the inbound flight from wherever it took off, so the pickup time moves with the aircraft rather than with the schedule you booked against. The first 60 minutes of waiting after landing is included — enough for a full-flight baggage reclaim — and you are not charged for a delay that is not yours.
- Yes. Airport drop-off charges, congestion and ULEZ where they apply are shown as their own lines on the booking form so you can see what is a fee and what is fare. Nothing is added after the journey: no meter, no day-of re-quote, and the fare is locked when you book even if our rate sheet changes before your pickup.
